I had always been a little bit traditional in views towards cosmetic surgery or treatments, I genuinely believed that the body which you are born with should be the one that you keep. I think this thought process came from the way I was raised but as the years rolled on, I began to to change my opinion somewhat. I don’t think I would ever go under the knife in order to augment or improve my body but I understand why people do. Cosmetic treatments on the other hand are something that I like and just recently I had some laser liposuction at my local clinic Sono Bello.

Despite my opinions changing on the subject, I believe that you have to be sure about undergoing surgery or having treatments and here are some tips on deciding whether surgery is right for you.

Ask Yourself Why

The reason why you want surgery should be asked very seriously as there are many reasons why people opt for surgery that are not very smart. For example, there are a lot of people who decide to go down this route just to keep up with the latest trends or to impress their friends. The problem with going under the knife for reasons like this is that friends and fashion change and your body will not. Make sure that you want your surgery for the right reasons.

Can You Afford It?

Cosmetic surgery is much cheaper than ever before, but it is not cheap and if you want to have your body augmented then you will need to make sure that you can afford it. You may not be able to afford surgery outright and prefer to take a finance deal, there is nothing wrong with this as long as you can afford the repayments. Know Your Numbers

Nothing frustrates investors more than you walking into a meeting with them and not knowing your figures. In fact, you should be armed to the teeth with the figures about your company, you should know sales figures, projected sales, value of the business, percentage of profit versus revenue and every other number that relates to you business. Investors deal in numbers, not emotions and you need to have yours right if you plan on getting that investment.

Pitch Well

Even if you do not feel comfortable speaking in front of others, you need to ensure that your pitch is perfect for the investors. If you are not the confident type then you need to work on your pitch until you know it inside out and back to front. The pitch is where you get to give a first impression and you only have one opportunity to do so. Remember the importance of what you are doing and that if it goes well then your company could be in line for a cash injection.

Believe

Remember that an investor is not just investing in your product, they are also investing in you and you need to firmly believe in what you are doing and be able to show the investor that too. If you don’t believe in your product or your business, or if you don’t come across in that way, then you cannot expect an investor to either.

Business Model

Your business model need stop be watertight and be able to stand up to any line of questioning which an investor has. Your business model should not be based on speculation but cold, hard facts. Before you even meet with an investor, you should be working with professionals in putting together your business plan and ensure that it stands up to any test. Be prepared to answer many ‘why’ and ‘how’ questions and if you want to fully prepare yourself then you should think about these questions and the answer before you go to the meeting.

I have been investing for several years now, throughout that time I have had some strong profits and I have had some investments that didn’t fair too well. One of the questions that I get asked most by my friends and family who want to get into investing is where, where should I put my money?

The short answer is that it is completely up to you where you put your money, there is no type of investment that is guaranteed and your investment choice should depend on which market you know best and how much cash you have to play with. Real Estate

People often say that bricks and mortar are the safest place to put your money, in my case this has most certainly been true and the biggest profits which I have seen on any of my investments have come from real estate. The reason that real estate is a safer investment than most is because of the relative stability of the market and the fact that you can sit on property for a long time, take monthly rent and still have an asset to sell at the end of it.

Hedge Funds

Hedge funds can be a great place for investors who want a bit of risk about what they do, without having to pile thousands of dollars into doing so. My buddy John Kleinheinz hedge fund guru and wealthy investor has used this method of investment to make huge upsides on his investments. The idea of a hedge fund is that many investors pool their resources together to buy stocks and can take risks from short selling them because of the funds which they have in hand, funds which are usually used to buy long term ‘safe’ stocks.

Oil Futures 

My career, prior to investing, was spent in the oil industry so I already knew a thing or two about the markets and this was the first place that I started investing. Oil futures are contacts which predict the price of oil at a set date in the future, if the price on that date is above what your contract says then you can guarantee oil stocks at your contact price. These contacts can be traded prior to their expiry depending on the price of oil and if you know what you are doing you can make some very strong profits.

I have only recently started with stocks and shares and at the moment I take a very risk averse approach and invest in blue chips for small gains. If you have a good understanding of the markets and their impacts however then buying and selling stocks and shares can be an exciting and profitable way of making money.

If you have never done so before, take the opportunity to attend a football match while you are here, as you will quickly find out that Brazilian sports fans are some of the most energetic supporters you ever witness in person.

Growing up as the son of a sports star cannot be easy, everywhere you go and everything you do will be compared to whatever your father has done before you. For many sons of famous fathers however they decided that they would not only face these comparisons in their daily lives, but they would go on to enter the World of sport and run the risk of facing huge amounts of pressure to achieve something similar or better than what their father did before them.

Today we are going to take a look at some of these brave young men who took the risk of following in their fathers footsteps, and achieved great things.

The Elways

Jack Elway was a hot prospect during his college playing days before he was hit with an injury that ended his career. Not wanting to give up the game he went into coaching and became one of the most widely respected college coaches that there has ever been as well as being a successful scout for the Denver Broncos. Son John Elway would go on to surpass the success of his father in a big way and after being picked at number 1 in the draft by the Denver Broncos, Elway junior would spend his career at the franchise winning 2 Super Bowls before going on to coach the outfit to a further 2 Super Bowl Championships.

The Hills

Graham Hill was one of the greatest racing drivers of his generation he won 2 World Championships in Formula One and became the only driver ever to win the Le Mans 24 Hour, the Indy 500 and an F1 title in the same year. Sadly Hill died in 1975 after an air crash and 5 year old son Damon was inspired to follow his dad’s success. Damon would go on to become one the greatest drivers of his generation and also won two F1 titles, the only son of a champion to ever do so and a man who could have won even more had he not been racing at the same time as one of the greatest to have ever sat behind the wheel, Michael Schumacher.

The Mannings

No family has had an impact on a particular sport in quite the ay that the Mannings have had on pro-football. Archie Manning was a fantastic college player who despite being picked up by the NFL after college, never quite achieved the same success that he had found in his youth. Manning’s sons Peyton and Eli, didn’t suffer from the same problem as their father and the two have gone on to redefine the role of the quarterback. Peyton is widely considered to be the greatest quarterback to have ever played the game and between him and his brother, the Mannings have racked up 4 Super Bowl wins. The Mannings have no become the benchmark of success in football and their names are littered throughout the record books for both the league and their respective franchises.

If you have never been traveling before then this is a call to arms to anyone in your position who has never felt the thrill of traveling throughout the World. When i talk about traveling, I am not discussing the two weeks on some sunny beach each year but rather the idea of strapping a rucksack and out to see the World.  After college my friend Andrew Corbman and I took a one month break traveling throughout Europe and I can honestly say that it was the greatest trip of my life. If the lure of seeing amazing places isn’t enough then here are some more reasons as to exactly why you need to go traveling at least once in your lifetime.

Expand your Horizons 

We can all be guilty of finding ourselves in a bubble that can be difficult to get out of, especially for people who come from small towns. When you travel you see a whole new World and a World which is far removed from your own. What this creates in your mind is the idea that far more is possible than you previously thought and as such your horizons will be automatically broadened, changing how you think about your work and your life in general.

Meet Awesome People

When you travel you end up meeting a huge variety of people from all kinds of different backgrounds. Generally speaking, other people who are on the road are far more laid back and relaxed as a result of them not being part of the daily grind. I made an awful lot of friends during my trip in Europe, many of whom I am still in touch with today, and you can too.

Open Your Eyes 

Traveling to other cultures and communities really helps you to reevaluate what is important in your life. As you travel your eyes will be opened to how lucky you have it or possibly to the contrary and this will have a huge impact on your daily life. It isn’t until you have seen a foreign family who have almost nothing, smiling and chatting as they eat their dinner that you suddenly realize that most of what we are striving for, is pretty irrelevant.

Good For Your Health 

Traveling has been scientifically proven to be good for your health and some experts suggest that those who travel actually live longer. Much of this is because your body builds up a stronger immune system as a result of the exposure to different bacteria. Another reason for this boost in health is because when you travel you are far more active than you usually are which is great for your physical wellbeing.

Something to Tell The Grandkids

I certainly don’t want to be 90 years old and have little to tell my grandchildren other than I worked, I survived and no I’m ready to go. I want to tell my grandkids about the awesome stories that I created when I was traveling the World and you can do exactly the same after you have experience the beautiful life of a traveler.

A third key component is the audience and what they may feel about the topic. Watch Your Body Language

There are famous cases of people losing debates because they simply looked defeated or their body language gave away that they knew their argument was weak. So take note that in addition to your words, the audience is also staring at you and observing how you deliver your argument. Do it confidently. Stand up straight, make eye contact when appropriate and speak clearly. Also when you are not speaking, people will look at you for reactions to your opponent’s comments. So practice staying calm no matter what is being said and never letting on when your opponent makes a great point.

Watch Your Emotions During the Debate

In the heat of the debate, things will likely ebb and flow, and there is also the potential for emotions flaring.Do not get caught up in the passion of the event, whether you are clearly winning or losing the debate. Strong emotions cause you to not think clearly and what can be a sure win can easily be turned into a loss because of them. Similarly, if you are losing badly, you getting emotional will only seal your fate. The best course of action is to maintain a calm and informative demeanor about your debate topic. No raising of your voice, gloating about great points you’ve made or getting into shouting matches with you opponents. Having a calm and consistent composure is probably the most understated quality of a great debater, but it has been the difference maker in many debates.
