2019 Chevrolet Trax – how cool is this subcompact crossover by Chevy?

The 2019 Chevrolet Trax is a compact crossover which many modest buyers will be interested in buying. For better engine performance, buyers might want to turn their attention towards other competitors like Kia Soul or even the 2019 Mazda CX-3. However, there are certain features and changes that Chevrolet has integrated into the vehicle that still makes it a reliable option.

Let us have a look at how good investment will this subcompact crossover by Chevy be for you. You can head over to any of the Chevy dealers like New Bern Chevrolet to book a test drive for the 2019 Trax.

What’s New for 2019?
Surprisingly, there are not many changes that Chevrolet has opted for 2019 Trax apart from the inclusion of 3 new colors – Pacific Blue Metallic, Dark Copper Metallic, and Satin Steel Metallic. Apart from that, everything else is still the same as the last year’s Chevrolet Trax.

Variants Available – Which one to buy?
The Chevrolet Trax is available in 3 different variants – LS: $22,295, LT: $24,195 and Premier: $28,595. Out of these three variants available in the market, the LT trim offers the most value for money experience. It comes with a six-way power-adjustable driver’s start, push-button start and keyless entry. If you want the All-Wheel Drive, then you will have to pay another $1500 more.

Engine Performance – the 2019 Chevrolet Trax is powered by a 1.4-liter turbo-4 rated at 138 horsepower but doesn’t expect it to perform outstandingly in real-world scenarios. Even in the urban roads, the engine mostly performs sluggish, but it is the suburban and highway conditions when the engine seems to breathe a little easy.  The automatic gearbox is also not the smoothest you will ever use in the market and has a well-off rev.

But the Trax is easy to steer, and drivers can get a comfortable drive owing to a revamped suspension system. The Trax offers a mileage of 29mpg in urban conditions and 31mpg on the highway, and that is still much lower than most other competitors in the market.

Interior and Safety – the cabin of the 2019 Chevrolet Trax is tall and has a good head space which makes the interior airy and comfortable. But that comes at a compromise being made on the rear leg and cargo space. The seats are well cushioned but covered with cheap materials, and it goes the same with the dashboard. Only the top variant offers better quality materials used in the interior. A touchscreen infotainment system has also been equipped.

Safety features like rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and forward-collision warning come standard with all the variants of the Chevrolet Trax.

Final Verdict – for the price you pay, the Trax will fail to provide a strong engine prowess in spite of being a turbocharged engine. But it comes with a smooth handling and steering system. It can be a good buy if you are not bothered about it much and want to commute in it. New Bern Chevrolet Dealership has the 2019 Trax on display, and you can visit them to check it out.
